Oak Hill Middle School & High School switch to Omella to capture all athletic registrations in one place, at no cost.
Challenge: Simplifying the process for sports registrations
Oak Hill Middle School and High School had the typical process of requiring multiple forms and documents when it came to registering students for different sports teams throughout the school year. Managing it this way meant that the athletic director, coaches, and parents were looking to several documents for different necessary information. Brian Daniels, both acting principal and athletic director for some time, was looking for a way to simplify this process so that parents could register their students for all teams at the start of the school year and submit all necessary details in one place that the athletic department could have access to.
Solution: Partnering with Omella for athletic registrations
Omella began consulting with Omella over the summer to better understand the needs of registration and how this process could be refined to include all of the necessary steps in one form. This allowed for coaches to dictate their requirements and for parents to submit this information in a secure place for the athletic department to have on hand. Omella was able to provide a separate but similar pages for both the middle school and high school students to get registered for the teams they were interested in joining for the entire school year. This registration page collected all of the needed information from contact details, athletic interests and signing the participation agreements, all the way to medical information, insurance policies, and emergency contacts.
Results: Hundreds of students registered in one place with no fees!
Brian rolled out registrations to all families at the top of the school year, collecting hundreds of submissions digitally in a way he had never been able to do in the past. This significantly cut down on the schools effort to share and remind parents for the necessary paperwork for their students to participate in team sports. Beyond that, the Omella success team was able to support Oak Hill with customized reporting that allowed for Brian to share specifics with each coach such as emergency contacts for each player. As principal and athletic director, Brian Daniels shared that “The ability to do online registration at no cost was amazing! It has allowed for a smoother transition of information and registration amongst coaches, parents, and administrators.”
