South Elgin High School streamlines all Homecoming ticket approvals and purchases through Omella
Challenge: Finding a ticketing platform that was both secure & efficient
South Elgin High School was looking for a way to sell homecoming dance tickets to both students and guests with security being top of mind. In hosting this dance, the school’s goals were to ensure a streamlined and cost effective process for ticketing, while also having the extra assurance that ticket holders were approved attendees from both the school and parents. Kaleb Carter, Activities and Athletics Director at South Elgin, described this experience in the past by sharing that “We had over 50 issues last year with a different vendor on homecoming tickets/codes and purchasing,” which created stress around the management of the event.
Solution: Partnering with Omella for Homecoming Ticket Sales
In the fall of 2024, South Elgin started a partnership with Omella and decided to sell homecoming tickets as one of their first campaigns on the new platform. Omella was able to provide efficiency for this ticketing process by validating student IDs to ensure ticket holders where approved attendees from the South Elgin and provide guest codes for confirmed outside guests. In addition to this, the ticket sales page was customized to collect student and parent signatures committing to the details of the event such as timing and conduct, which ultimately gave the high school peace of mind going into the event.
Results: Almost 1000 tickets sold in 10 days - with no issues!
Ticket sales totaled at over $25,000 for close to 1000 student and guest tickets in just 10 days through Omella. Kaleb confirmed that “Everything was easier from an event set up aspect. We had zero issues this year! We were able to capture signatures from parents and students which we were not able to do on our previous platform,” which led to the South Elgin team having more confidence in having secure approvals for their dance attendees. Using Omella provided efficiency around ticket sales and approvals for guests that the school did not have in years past, requiring less staff time in preparing for and managing the sales this year.
