Challenge: Campaign Management and Platform Fees

Muir Middle School previously used a fundraising vendor to run the Colt Classic campaign for their PTO. Although this partnership provided strategic support and facilitation of the school campaign, the fees related to this type of management were 50% of the total proceeds! Having these fees ultimately took quite a bit from the money the PTO was able to use to support special initiatives and activities that the school’s budget doesn’t always cover.

Solution: Partnering with Omella for Peer to Peer Fundraising

After switching to Omella’s team fundraising (aka peer to peer fundraising) solution, Muir was able to receive similar support for the launch of the 2024 Colt Classic. Omella provided partnership through inviting participants, sending emails to donors, collecting and providing information for class challenges, and working directly with the PTO to support the strategy that lead to beating last year’s results. Both parents and students engaged by sharing this campaign with their communities in hopes to raise money to cover student activities and support school resources for the current school year.

Results: 25% Increase in Donations + No Fees!

The PTO campaign at Muir Middle School had quite the boost this year after breaking three goals and collecting a total of $20,350 in just 9 days. The school was able to save close to $7,000 in fees and in total collected 25% more in overall donations.  Previously, this fundraiser had never broken $15,000 and was also never supported by a vendor at no cost. This campaign concluded with over 400 donors driven by 252 families for what Muir’s principal referred to as “the easiest fundraiser the school has ever done.”
